Life As It Is Today...

Haven't we all been trying to figure out how to earn just a little extra money these days? I've come up with an idea for me...I'm going to make aprons. You know, those things your mom wears on Thanksgiving and Christmas? Okay, so I'm not the best seamstress, but I'm pretty good and if I practice I will only get better. So, to ruin the surprise, if you are getting a Christmas present from me this year, it's going to be an apron. Sorry! Haha.

Yesterday one of my co-workers got to retire after 26 years! How awesome is that? She always made us smile and always had a song on her heart and on her lips. Today it was sad when no one said, "Copier off". I didn't even realize that it was after 5, I usually wait to hear that and then start to wrap things up for the day. So, to Annie, happy retirement and may God bless you as you embark on this new journey.

And lastly (and by no means least), today is my parents 30th wedding anniversary! Dad told mom today that it wasn't officially their anniversary until 8 pm because my mom just had to have these candles at her wedding and she wanted them to be seen, so the start of the wedding was put off until 8 pm. Of course, Florida in August, it still wasn't dark at 8! Ha, let that be a lesson to those planning a wedding in a venue with lots of windows, if you want the candles to be seen, black out the windows, or get married in the middle of winter! haha Seriously though, my parents are amazing and still so in love! Everything that I'm hoping for in marriage is based on what I see in them. I love you mom & dad! Congrats!!! <3

Birthday Fun

This morning I had the honor of taking my niece to a birthday party. (My niece Ayva is 20 months old and you will hear lots about her in future posts!) My co-workers little girl just turned 1 and I was invited to her party. Ayva and I had lots of fun climbing all over the jungle gym and swinging and eating yummy cake...well until the storm came. So we threw our trash away, told the birthday girl happy birthday said good bye to friends and made a mad dash for the car.

On the way home we stopped for a cheeseburger happy meal and apples (I did let Ayva have a couple fries, I know, bad Auntie Kim!). And when she was finished I got to put her down for a nap just before Mommy & Daddy got home.

It is definitely the little things in life that makes you smile!

My First Post

Okay, so I'm finally biting the bullet. After being a stalker on some of my friends blogs, I've decided to start my own. Now I don't know who all will stumble across this, but I hope I don't bore you completely!

So, here goes nothing...
